Alia Palmer
Physiotherapist
Alia is a physiotherapist who loves to understand what her patient’s sports, pastimes and/or hobbies are so that she can get them right back to what brings them purpose and joy! Having graduated from McGill with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 2005, Alia has worked in private practice for 20 years, specializing in sports reconditioning, concussion management and vestibular rehabilitation.
As an athlete who played rugby while at McGill and women’s tackle football for Team Canada as well as for the Montreal Blitz professional women’s football team, Alia understands the importance of well-rounded rehab and the value of educating her clients in injury prevention. Her objective is to always make sure her patients comprehend why they are being given exercises and to empower them to be an integral part of achieving their goals.
Alia has completed multiple concussion courses and is certified in Reconditioning levels 1 &2, as well as running injury prevention. She is also accredited in vestibular rehabilitation and believes that learning is a continuous process that never ends! Alia appreciates learning from others but also feels privileged to be able to share her knowledge with clients throughout their rehab process.
In her spare time, Alia stays active by doing Crossfit and playing beach volleyball. She also has a passion for coaching and has been the Assistant Coach and therapist for the John Abbott Flag Football team for over 20 years.
