MENTAL HEALTH
In-person / Telehealth Adults & Teenagers
Occupational therapists, or OTs, are essential to addressing mental health issues. OT’s have the skills and knowledge to help individuals improve their quality of life and improve their emotional well-being.
Life throws us curve balls and sometimes we feel unable to handle the pressure. Different mental health related issues, such as burnout, anxiety disorders, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder can spiral out of control during a crisis or after a longer period of persistent stress, especially in the absence of emotional support and social contact. Some common symptoms are fatigue, insomnia, difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness, stress and mood swings. These symptoms can have a negative effect on our overall health and wellness.
An Occupational Therapist will help you explore and identify your health and wellness goals so that you can build a solid foundation that you can continue to develop over time. Here is how an OT can help;
We will also support you in making healthy lifestyle changes and will refer to other team members as needed, like a physiotherapist to help you with physical activation, mobility and energy levels and a dietician to provide education and guide you on making healthy changes regarding your diet.
Our mental health OT services are available in person or online via telehealth. Both options are great, and we encourage you to make the choice that best suits your needs.
